This is our first venture into keeping geese and as we have recently moved to Wales what else could we keep but the beautiful Brecon Buff.which originated from the hill farms of Brecon  and the surrounding areas.
They have certainly been entertaining and seem to enjoy playing with both our dogs and the dogs toys, and despite all the hissing and neck thrusting from the gander they have proved to be non aggressive and very easy to herd and handle.
We have to date only culled one gander, he came out at a finished weight of  8lb 12oz  which is probably small by commercial standards but we found there to ample breast meat and the texture & flavour were second to none.
They are just coming into lay so we hope to have goslings very soon.
